Everyone always knew that Infernape was hiding something inside of itself. A power that rivals the deities themselves. But nobody expected Crystallization to be the trigger.

This is because the bridged Crystal Energy causes a reaction inside of Infernape. The reaction releases all of its potential at once like a bursting fire. But because of this, taking on the form is extremely tiring for Infernape. There have been cases where Infernape passed out into a coma from just using a single Flare Blitz in this form.

There was once a challenger of the Sinnoh league who used Crystal Infernape, and quite effectively too. It obliterated nearly every Pokémon in its way, but when it came to Cynthia's Garchomp, the transformation unfortunately reverted at the wrong time, and the tired Infernape was swiftly defeated.

What is this inner potential? Well, thanks to the new ability, Power Within, we might have a clue. It seems to increase ALL of its stats except for HP, and by quite the margin too. However, the Power Within is so draining that the form doesn't last long. Crystal Infernape reverts after just 4 turns. Making it the only Crystallization that reverts by itself in the middle of battle.

Probably for the best, since Crystal Infernape is far stronger than any normal Pokémon should be.
