That's right! There's been a lot going on lately, and it seems old devs and designers got a bit restless with how long the games been going so in short, we're revealing most mons with their design credits and sprite credits on Pokengine! In the near future we'll have other ways to see them too! Also, on top of this, we are going to be dedicating a week to every mon in Kuria dex order soon! Starting with Twigit of course! So look forward to that.
There was a bit of drama around the aforementioned restlessness of previous designers on the project that was handled quite poorly in some strange aggressive attempt to hurt Azurite, but after talking it over with the team we've decided the best course of action despite revealing our full hand WILL BE releasing the full game as planned! So rejoice everyone, Azurite is far from dead and in fact quite far along! As you can see, we've got most sprites in the game and animated as far as our dex goes. We are mainly looking for TILESET SPRITERS, MAP CREATORS and EVENT SCRIPTERS to help us get the game together in one piece. IF you are any of these, please DM me (SleepyBakes / Sleepy#7777 on Discord) and let me know! Please keep it to those who feel they are more experienced as this project nears completion!
Now lets get down to the actual news! We have MAJOR PLANS that I believe many of you will be very excited for! But lets break it down in parts:
Pokéngine This image is a small teaser. If you want to check out all the mons, click here. Pokéngine is a great fangame dex display as well as cool MMO! While Azurite isnt yet in the mmo portion, the fantastic developers of this website have allowed us the honor of displaying our mons here. It's not 100% complete, not currently showing all mons or even showing our regionals / many forms. And it only has the abilities needed for our main dex. But its a great way to get a cool look at the mons of Azurite!!
2. Battle Simulators
The team has had discussions surrounding getting a Battle Simulator out. I'm glad to report we currently have two ideas going: One is an ingame (rpg maker) battle simulator! The story will be a prequel to Azurite (there wont be much story) and take place as you being a new recruit to Team Vitreus using their training simulation software. We hope you look forward to this! The image here is courtesy of Speed King and I wanted to show it off, though its unlikely to be any more than a tentative title. Secondly I'd like to thank the Worlds Collide team, they are a Showdown derived fan game style battle simulator who has shown interest in showing off Azurite mons as well! So while the ingame battle simulator will be a single player storyish simulator mostly for testing our massive engine changes and how they'll play in actual Azurite, the Worlds Collide will be a great way to test online against others using your favorite Azurite mons (or other fan game mons too, though obviously we mostly are interested in how Azurite mons play and balance test!) We hope you look forward to these forthcoming ways of testing out Azurites mons for yourself!
3. The Game Itself
So with all that said, we are still working to finish the whole game, story and postgame and all. After the battle simulator is out, I'll likely be way more forthcoming with how far along we are in the actual game in an attempt to rally some love and maybe some more people who are willing to help us finish it up. I want to thank the Azurite team and Netto especially who has done amazing amounts of work on the engine up till now and convinced us to push this game to completion. I'd also love to shout out everybody who's been supporting and so nice about everything lately! It was a bumpy road recently but the love and support we got out of it was everything to me, and the team as well. I love everyone who has ever supported us, even if they were to blindly believe any slander if they put any support in over time its the important part of what went into making us keep going for this long. The road to this game is not perfect but its coming one way or another! So thanks everyone!!
4. The Discord, The Future and You
I urge everyone to join the discord!! We now have a channel for Azurite spoiler discussion, just for now so we can avoid anyone who may not have wanted to see ALL (most) the mons being revealed. If anyone has fan art to make of any of the newly revealed mons we'd also love to see it in the Azurite fanart channel!! We have other ideas floating around, a web comic, other ways of showing the work we put into the game, more ways to support the community, etc. We appreciate the support in every way and cannot wait to show you more! Hope everyone's excited for Pokémon showcases and such! Thanks again!!
